We Could All Use a Little More Peace & Calm

Peace & Calming is one of Young Living’s most popular essential oil blends, made up of tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli, and blue tansy!

And it’s one of the most popular oils in my home too!

My favorite way to use Peace & Calming is to diffuse it while I’m sleeping. The first time I diffused it, I was amazed at how well-rested I felt the next morning! I woke up lying on my back, telling me that after I fell asleep there, I didn’t “toss and turn” in my chronic sort of way. Plus, I felt more clear-headed and “awake” than I had in the last few “mommy years.” Sadly, my norm had evolved into some sort of zombie-like sleep-walking to and fro checking on little ones, getting some “juice” (aka flavored water), letting the dogs out, etc.

Added bonus, I immediately noticed that I didn’t feel any tension in my jaw. As my dentist reminds me at every appointment, I am a chronic teeth grinder, and the wear and tear on my teeth is so significant that it always begs the question, “Do you have headaches or jaw pain when you wake up?” Truthfully, I never thought so, but after using Peace & Calming, I noticed a difference in how I felt. So, for right now, I’m holding off on the sexy night guard he’s threatened!

For these reasons alone, Peace & Calming is always “stocked” at my house.

How to use Peace & Calming:

  • It can be applied neat (directly on the skin) for adults.

  • It can be diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or olive oil. (Dilution is recommended for babies and children.)

  • It can be diffused.

Here are some more ways to use Peace & Calming:

  •  Besides diffusing, it can be applied neat or diluted to the bottoms of the feet for a good night’s sleep.

  • Apply to wrist and neck before a stressful meeting or event.

  • Diffuse to calm overactive children.—-I may or may not have a 4-year-old who qualifies. :)

  • Calm restless leg syndrome with 2-3 drops rubbed onto legs.

  • Rub 1-2 drops neat or diluted on the chest to calm a cough.

  • For anxiety, rub a drop on the base of the skull.

  • Add Peace & Calming to a carrier oil to be used for massage.

  • Add a few drops to epsom salt for a relaxing bath.

  • Use as perfume behind ears and on wrists.

  • Rub 1-2 drops behind overactive or overstimulated pets’ ears to calm.

  • Diffuse while meditating, praying or practicing yoga to calm mind, body and spirit.

  • Apply behind ears, on wrists, and feet of children (over 2 years) to help curb midnight waking.
