FITNESS YOGA is an athletic yoga practice that blends flexibility, strength, meditation, and asana (postures). With the ancient science of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow Yoga as it's foundation, Fitness Yoga keeps you moving at a more vigorous pace than a traditional gentle flow class. With focus on empowering you to take your yoga practice to the next level, we'll help you develop the strength and balance needed for inversions, arm balances, and other advanced yoga postures. While challenging and sure to give you a great workout, our fitness yoga classes are well suited for all levels of experience. Modifications are provided in every class to meet you where you're at in your practice.
HOT YOGA combines Fitness Yoga with dry heat. In our 90 degree studio, you'll experience a strong Fitness Yoga practice along with the added benefits that breaking a good sweat can bring. As the heat warms joints and muscles, you'll take your practice to a new level by gaining more flexibility and a deeper stretch. (Hot yoga classes are held on a seaonsonal basis during the Fall and Winter.)
MID-WEEK RECHARGE YOGA- Recharge your mind and body mid-week. This class begins and ends with guided meditation to support you in letting go of what no longer serves you. Extra attention is devoted to breath work, getting you centered and focused on the present moment. We'll warm the body with 30 minutes of vinyasa yoga or moving meditation, followed by gentle stretching and an extended Savasana to end the class. If you're seeking more balance in your life, this is the perfect mid-week activity for you!
FOCUSED FITNESS CLASSES
CORE STRENGTH is about more than Abs and goes WAY beyond the dreaded crunches. In yoga, core strength is crucial to your practice and essential in progressing to the more challenging postures. This 30 minute class focuses on improving muscle strength in the abdominals, back, glutes and thighs.
INVERSION TRAINING teaches you the foundations of getting upside down! We'll walk you through the basics of conquering these fun and confidence-building poses in a safe way. This 30 minute class will help you take the first steps toward mastering these poses and experiencing inversions.
